Training Session: Oso Building Clarity Under Drive & Stacking Commands | High Drive Dog Training
n this Training Sessions video, we start stacking commands with Oso and make things a bit more complex.
Oso in drive is a different animal. Once he’s on, his intensity can override everything else, which is exactly why we put so much focus on clarity under drive.
In this session we work on:
Stacking commands together
Reinforcing clear marker communication
Keeping him thinking while in high drive
Maintaining structure without killing intensity
We section his training into three parts so he stays engaged and doesn’t go on autopilot:
Box work — controlled, high-value practice to isolate behaviors and sharpen focus.
Foundational obedience — chaining commands and reinforcing markers so responses stay crisp under pressure.
Scenario variation — changing environments and cues to ensure responses generalize when drive ramps up.
The goal is simple: no matter how much drive he’s in, he understands exactly what’s being asked of him. That comes from clear markers, predictable structure, and progressive challenge — not from damping his energy.
